As the anesthesia practice of choice for various hospitals and surgery centers throughout Kentucky and Indiana, Kentucky Anesthesia Group bills for anesthesia services in a compliant and patient-friendly manner.  A physician-owned anesthesia practice, Kentucky Anesthesia Group is committed to delivering state-of-the-art anesthesia services and detailed billing.  With over 250 aggregate years in practice, our team is prepared to consistently provide excellent quality anesthesia services.  Kentucky Anesthesia Group is recognized for our professionalism, cooperation, reliability and commitment to excellence – all essentials to delivering safe, high-quality anesthesia to our patients.  Our people specialize in the provision of anesthesia care.

The anesthesiologist and anesthetist providing your care are private practitioners, just like your surgeon.  Kentucky Anesthesia Group professional fee includes a preoperative evaluation, administration of your anesthetic and supervision of your stay in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU).

There are several factors that influence the amount of your anesthesia bill, those being the type and length of your surgery and your physical condition.  Due to these factors, only an estimate of the final bill can be determined by our billing office prior to surgery.  The type of anesthesia administered during your surgery will not affect your anesthesia bill.  The “anesthesia” charge on your hospital bill is for hospital furnished supplies and equipment and does not include the charge for our Kentucky Anesthesia Group services, which are billed separately.

Kentucky Anesthesia Group will work with you or a designated family member prior to your surgery to gather billing information so that your invoice can be processed correctly and efficiently.  In the event that we receive a denial from your insurance company for non-coverage, we will contact you directly.  Kentucky Anesthesia Group bills are based upon the procedure and the amount of time that the procedure takes.

Depending on the requirements of your insurance company, the professional fees for your anesthesia may be split between members of our anesthesia care team, resulting in two bills.  We understand that receiving bills from ancillary providers can be confusing.  Anesthesia is an ancillary service.  Therefore, our anesthesia bill is separate from the surgeon bill and the facility bill.  Kentucky Anesthesia Group will bill you separately from the surgeon’s fees or hospitals charges.  Most health insurance policies will pay for all or part of the anesthesiology fees.

Insurance policies vary greatly in the coverage provided.  Kentucky Anesthesia Group will file your anesthesia claims to your primary, secondary and tertiary insurance companies for you regardless of our network status.  Insurance policies vary greatly in the amount of coverage provided.  Some insurance companies pay our fee in full.  If your insurance does not cover our entire fee, our office will bill you for the balance owed.  We will make every effort to file your claim and assist you in any way we can. Deductibles, co-payment amounts and non-covered expenses are the patient’s responsibility.  If you are uninsured, please make payment plans with our office.
